is Ax Records?
Ax
Records is a new record company with a new way of thinking, inspired
by trends of today in the recording industry. The company is based
on the Åland Islands and produces, distributes and promotes
it´s artists by following standards of quality and professionalism.
Our latest recording artists are Biomech, Maria Stenberg and, in June,
Camilla Heidenberg´s band EC. Also associated with the label
are Robbing Hood, Lefthandpath, Fryk and the Blimperialists.
Ax Records can be found in "Q", the culture/media house
in Mariehamn, where there are perfect recording possibilities in a
classic studio enviroment. The recording, mixing and mastering is
handled by Istvan Stenberg, the renowned music producer from Stockholm,
Sweden, who has worked with many big names through the years.
Layout, printing of the CDs/DVDs, distribution and promotion is taken
care of by Arn-Henrik Blomqvist and Dave Webb (from Brighton, England).
The idea is to offer good recording possibilities at a very reasonable
price, without having to compromise at all on the quality, and then
to refine that material through high class mixing and mastering so
that - like in the real world - it holds the same quality as today´s
best mixes. After that follow the graphical work and the actual pressing
of the records.
There is also a possibility to make and integrate filmed material
for creating DVDs instead of the classic CDs. The film company Smartsome
Productions, also situated in "Q", has over ten years of
experience in film and video and can provide everything for a video
shoot.
